The VP Auto Collision Story
VP Auto Collision began in 2005 in Bel Air, MD specializing in factory-correct collision repairs on BMWs. From our inception, our technical training, tooling, and equipment were designed to meet the highest standards of European luxury vehicles, and that remains a major area of expertise for us today.
Over the course of our service to Harford County, we’ve established strong working relationships with a number of dealerships, mechanical service centers, and car clubs in the area. These referral partners trust us with their customer’s collision work because we share the same dedication to high quality, factory-correct repairs using the latest technology and techniques.
This referral network of local, like-minded automotive service providers has allowed us to avoid participation in Insurance Company Direct Repair Programs (DRPs). In fact, we have never been a DRP partner during our entire company history.
Why is it important to us to have no DRPs?
Our mission is to always serve the best interests of our customers. When auto body shops enter into a Direct Repair relationship with an insurance company, it can blur the line as some shops begin to treat the insurance company itself as their customer. It’s very important to us that we avoid this kind of conflict of interest, as it would violate our most important core value.
We work with all insurance companies and have great working relationships with them. However, our work with them is only ever done with your best interests in mind. We’ve gotten where we are today through repeat business and word of mouth referrals from our customers, and we won’t ever forget that.

Our continuing education through I-CAR ensures that our technicians are repairing vehicles according to manufacturer guidelines, with state-of-the-art equipment, using the latest in collision repair techniques. Only 10 percent of collision repair businesses currently meet the rigorous training requirements necessary to earn the Gold Class designation..
